Liquid Like Machine

Privacy

Your music never leaves your device. There are no accounts and no cookies; the visit counts are anonymous.

Who runs it

Liquid Like Machine is a personal project, run by Scott Cade. The contact address is at the foot of this page.

Your music

The page reads the files you choose, in your browser, to listen to them and draw the show. It doesn't upload them, or anything it hears in them, and it has no server of its own to send them to. The demo jam is made in your browser too.

What it stores

One preference: whether the dancers are on. It's saved in your browser's own storage on your device, only when you turn the dancers on or off (with their button or the D key), and used for nothing else. It's never sent anywhere. Clearing your site data removes it.

Cookies, analytics and other people's code

There are no cookies. The page counts visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which records page loads, where visitors came from, their country, device and how fast the page loaded, without cookies and without following anyone from site to site. Only the site's owner sees the counts. Nothing about your music or files is in them. The counting script is not loaded at all if your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, and an ad blocker stops it too. Apart from that one script, the page loads no code, fonts or images from anyone else: even the type is served from this site. The page has one link to another site, the tip link below, and nothing else.

Hosting

The site is hosted on Cloudflare. Like any web host, it handles the technical details of your visit, such as your IP address and the pages you ask for, to deliver the page, and it keeps logs of requests. An IP address counts as personal data, so this is the one place your details are handled at all. Cloudflare's own privacy policy covers it.

The tip link

"Buy me a beer" takes you to Ko-fi, a separate service with its own privacy policy. It's optional, and nothing is sent there unless you click it.

Your rights

You can ask what's held about you, or ask for it to be removed, by writing to the contact address. As far as this page is concerned, nothing is held beyond what the host's logs keep.
